***Updated! Go here for my latest posts on the current project. :) - the baby sampler birth record thingy!

So while I wait for the aida i've painted to finish going through the wash, I may as well start this thread - now i've finished pretty much all but 2 presents for my friends/family, and had a few days break after finishing th mini swap item i've sent to my swap partner... it's time to grow some more finger callous. ;)

Well, that and play White 2. :pika

This is the pic of the pattern:

I'm off to grid out the aida now.. will post more when i've done that. Also, would anyone be interested in the chart?

...Huh.
seems the water-soluble pencil I got specifically for gridding on this doesnt work.. on this. No matter, I'll just do it without a grid.. and hope I don't mess it up. ;)

Thanks, Koi!

As I said, I painted the aida - I used this tutorial.
It's made the aida feel all leathery, and the holes are hardish to see, so until I get used to it, it'll be slow going.

Pattern in pdf:
[edit- I've taken it off, as I need to change a few colours... But I'm not sure what to, yet.]

Lol Pyper, my to-do pile is like that too.. Maybe one day i'll get to it!

Also, i've been to Spotlight, and have gotten just the colours for the outlines.. because that's all I could find. :/ I'll probably end up ordering online for the other colours, if they don't come in within the next week. That'll give me time to finish the outline - it's slow going. Kinda feels like i'm stitching through buttery soft leather with hard to find holes.

I am in love with that pattern, very ambitious.

I checked out that link for painting aida. Thank you for posting it. I have a project that could use this especially because it will end up being an odd shape. Does the paint really "seal" the edges of the aida? If so it's a great idea for any odd shaped project.

no worries! It does seems to seal the edges!
I had to send mine through the washing machine, because the charcoal pencil I bought to grid out with decided not to come off, in a test. That did make it fray, but not badly at all. I think if you only hand washed it, it would be absolutely fine. :)

Herp derp, I suppose I really should update. Keep myself motivated, if nothing else.
Progress has been slower than id have liked, but eyestrain headaches will do that. :/
BUT i'm happy with how it's looking, and only one major stuff up!
