WIP Disney Dreams-Cinderella Updated 8/5/2012
Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. I have been cross stitching for about 12 years. I just finished a 12 x 16 14 count of a girl collecting sea shells. After this I went to AC Moore and fell in love with the Disney Dreams Cinderella kit. It was on sale for $20 which is about half off from what I have seen at other places. I started it 4 days ago and I must say I am loving it! The colors are so much nicer and vibrant than the picture shows. There are gold and pearl filaments that get tweeded in the floss which makes it sparkly and beautiful. I finished the castle and am beginning the bottom part of the first chart. I have pictures but i have done quite a bit more than I am uploading today (they are still on my phone).
I have seen a few other people who are working on this collection which is what interested me in joining this forum.

I am now going into my fourth week working on this. Im almost about half of the first page done. I still have french knots to do in the tree but I figure I will do that when I'm done with the first page. I'm loving this so kit so much and am looking to get the lion king and beauty and the beast kits as well!

Welcome to the forums. I own 5 of the kits, I couldn't resist them. I started the Snow White one on these boards but its been forever since I worked on it. Cant wait to see your progress maybe it will motivate me to work on mine, although I have another smaller project I have to get done by the end of the month first.

Hello and welcome! Glad to see another Disney project! And I'm especially glad someone likes the gold and pearl filaments because I sure don't!

Week 1 Results
This is what I have accomplished for week 1. It was the first time I ever had to do french knots. The first couple came out loose and blah but after a few of them I got the hang of it.

I started the exact same one! I love the castle picture you posted, it looks amazing when it's finished. I'm kinda in the middle of the picture now but I'm working towards the castle. Good luck!

Wow, that looks great! I still haven't mastered a French knot.
Random fact: When my mom stitches, she doesn't call them "French knots," she calls them "Goose Berries."

I also struggled with these for years until I saw this tutorial on YouTube. I still watch it every now and then to brush up when I haven't done them in a while. Great resource!

That tutorial is exactly what I needed. My mom only taught me once when I was like ten or so and I haven't had any projects that had it (I only started up recently) so I was scared to pick up anything that used them. Thank you for posting that link!
