I know this is two in one day but I finished them both. My lava monster was a break from this one that I finally finished for my mother-in-law.
So this pattern is from Janlynn and was a kit I think. It's been a while. It was the first time I had to do french knots. You can tell cause they look crappy in the upper left but get a little better down the pattern.
Oh and the original design called for a huge border that I got tired of very very quickly, so I just left it out and plan on framing the middle. Call me lazy, but mothers day is getting kinda close.

These look great! I love how the backstitching looks on the wings. That's what really draws me into the whole piece. And I think it looks just fine without a larger border. Lets the butterflies be more free, right?
