wahlah! I decided to mount the koi to a canvas board, and made a hanger out of.. hanging wire? some stuff I got at the craft store that was labelled for hanging things with.

I had a break for a few days, made a few swear word projects, to try out a few fonts, and then got stuck into my new project - a baby sampler for a firend who had a baby girl a few weeks ago. Not game related, sadly, but damn cute, and a very different style for me - lots of near identical shades, and the way the shading is done, if you get what i'm trying to say. I'm going to wait until the rest of it is done until I backstitch in the name and weight and stuff, just so I can double/triple check my notes are correct.

Thanks guys :D

Brother's opened the koi - he really likes it! SO HAPPY

A funny -
I had made a fabric covered sketchbook for my 5 year old niece - with a pencil roll and textas and stuff. So she unwraps it, and yell out, all excited - 'oh wow! a secret diahorreah!' lmao

i've finished the teddy sampler, but don't have a pic of it. :)

Love the koi! The colors pop nicely off of the painted canvas.

Would also love to see the "secret diahorreah" lol.

Thanks! I know i've got some pics of it somewhere, but I can't seem to find them. :/It was very pink, and very girly. ;)

I've finally finished the baby sampler! Now to send it to my friend - shame sending stuff is so pricey. :/ At least its' interstate, not international.

So that teddy sampler's been sent off, i'm still working on the hylian scroll, and I got a great package in the mail! All the floss and aida for my mum's present (The unicorn - I think I posted a pic of it a few pages back.)

So first up - pain tthat aida! I used the same method as the aida for the koi - paint & textile medium. :)

IT"S SO BRIGHT

I have a frame for it, too - I've painted it, though it needs a sand, and I might seal it with some nice matte varnish later. I'll see how it looks after the light sanding, I think.

After seeing how cool the koi turned out, I totally want to do something with painted aida. Just have to figure out what. Hmm....

Something like the Epic Mario would be a huge time saver if you couldn't get blue fabric. Maybe something that would really stand out? Like red painted aida, and Sonic or something similarly bright? You could sponge the paint mix on, too, as an idea. :)

I've (finally) started the unicorn, after a few weird/rough weeks. :) Not much done yet, i'm going to work the unicorn then do the fun beading and bits. I've also decided to use my big frame.

I've also been doing a few quick stitches of the Natalie Dee/Subversive Cross Stitch valentine cards, and have been filling bits of the patterns with metallics. (wrote Metallicas by accident. ) i'd just like to take this quick moment to say METALLICS SUCK. So pretty, So annoying.

Edit: Metallic thread and I have had a big argument. I'm not going to worry about shinyfying the other cards unless I tweed them, lol.
