Mario 3 Crochet Blanket WIP

I had found through sprite stitch this link: http://www.spritestitch.com/?tag=mosaic&paged=2 which contained the picture of raccoon mario up in the clouds made of legos. I had also previously noticed a yoshi crochet blanket http://www.spritestitch.com/?p=2998.
I decided to put these two ideas together and try to create the lego mosaic as a crochet blanket. Here is my progress so far:

Yay more crochet blankets! Nice to see you used my blanket as part of your inspiration. I actually made mine by stitching individual squares together, but I like your approach too. How big is yours going to be? It looks huge already based on the couch it's lying on.

I looked at how you made yours and knew that I wouldn't be good at making a blanket the same way. I have a hard time with making the squares consistent and making them look nice when I stitch them together. I experimented with how large I wanted each "pixel" to be and end up going with 2"x2" sections. Each pixel is 4 rows high and 6 double crochets long. In theory the blanket should end up being 60"x60". We shall see what it actually turns out to be. I am currently half way done and the measurements are 60 inches across and 36 inches tall. Here is also an updated picture with my "helper" She sure loves yarn!!! Thanks for the complements!
