Tetris Blanket

Post by mrsjlathan »

We were snowed in for Christmas - for nearly 2 weeks. My daughter likes Tetris and my husband and I are ole skool gamers, so this is what I did with my snowed-in-ness... I made 4 of each shape, with the dimensions of 10 stitches by 6 double stitches per square. It took awhile to fit together symmetrically, but after seeing a bookshelf in Nintendo Power, I was able to do it. I'm making another one too! It's kinda folded, but dimensions fit a twin bed. Stay tuned... And excuse the size of the image.

Everybody, check out more of my work at [http://www.myspace.com/chrissyscustomcrochet]. I make all kinds of things and am kinda new at making video game themed work. Thanks to my kid and husband's ideas, my next project is a pixeled Mega man 1up or a pixeled jumping Mario (red and blue, not red and brown.)

I didn't think I would get into crochet but I'm loving it. It's a nice break from stitching. I like to swap between the two. Right now I'm obsessed with crochet and I'm finishing of the edges to my Mario piece and making one BIG granny square that I've just taught myself to do from watching You tube vids. Wish I'd learned about double crochet before making the mario one. I would have finished it much quicker!! That's the way it goes though.
