Mario Bros. Etched Glasses
These were my first try at glass etching. The letters off the Mario Brothers' hats and their evil counter parts. I felt like the people here would enjoy seeing them.

Thanks for the comments.
And WhoDatIs, all you need to do glass etching is some glass etching cream (found at craft stores, but is a bit pricey ($13 a bottle)) and contact paper or adhesive vinyl sheets (and, of course, a smooth glass surface). For my designs I printed the images, traced them onto the vinyl, and cut that out. Then you just stick that onto the object and follow the instructions on the bottle of etching cream.

Re: Mario Bros. Etched Glasses
The glasses are beautiful. I hope the fiance doesn't see this or I'll have to add it to my project list. I've seen the glass etching cream at Michaels. Does it actually etch it permanently? We're considering etching our own glasses for our wedding ($25 vs $100+). My concern is that I'd do that, and then immediately it would get scratches or start to wear off.

Re: Mario Bros. Etched Glasses
You shouldn't have any issues with the etching coming off seeing as the cream works by removing a tiny, tiny amount of glass from the surface, and therefore, there's nothing to come off. As for the scratching, I can't really speak on that; I haven't been using my glasses enough that they'd be getting scratched. My guess would be that, with normal use, scratching isn't something you'd have to worry about.
