Mega Man rug

Post by Pixel Stitches »

Hey everyone!

I'm just starting on a Mega Man rug that I have been meaning to make for a while now. I'm crocheting each square about an inch by an inch, so this will turn out about 3 ft high by 2.5 ft wide. Here's the pattern I made to work off of:

And here's the progress shot of the squares I have made so far layed out on the ground with my 360 controller next to it for size refrence:

I'll be updating asap with further progress on it :D

You're telling me! xD I just started making some of the red squares last night and I was like.....I don't know about this lol. It's definitally going to take me a while.

Actually no, that's just how the individual squares are cut for the moment, and what they look like unattatched from each other. I leave the tails at the end of the crocheted square before I sew them together, just so they don't unravel. For an example, here's the Chocobo rug I made for riotpatch for the Craft Swap, so you can see what the squares will look like after being sewn together:

I get super excited when they start to look "clean" and together actually. That was the first rug I made, so I was super happy with the results. Hopefully this one will turn out okay too :pac That is an interesting idea though, somehow making like a "shag" version. I wonder for a future rug if I could almost combine latch hook and crochet to make something like that...

Also, I should be updating with a few more squares added (including some of that red!) later today :D

The Chocobo is definitely cute, but I still do like the shag-carpet-esque look.

Here's another quick update!:

Not much more done, but I thought you'd all like to see some of the red and the start of his arm, to get more of a "rug vibe" outta it

I'm going to be working on a stitching comission mostly today and the next day so there may not be much of an update on my rug until later this week, but hopefully I can get some more work in before then!

Starting to get some arm, yay! I don't know how much I can work on it today, but I should have a new pic up by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest
