TY Servo, that takes the pressure off. I've got 6 projects that I've started or starting in the next week or two. I've just made a crochet flower. Will post in Non VG forum.

Just as an idea for Johloh's pattern... I was trying to thinking of some way to add in the nuts, but I wasn't sure how simple you were going for ^_^
Its funny, alot of the things Servo mentioned were along the lines of what I was thinking hehe...

Re: May --> ? Challenge! Final Fantasy Stitch-A-Long!
I'm back ! Yep, May is the month of holidays in France, so I'm getting lazy in the (almost here) sun !
Hum. Back to business. I haven't touch the Moogle amigurumi except to discard an attempt at a limb. So far, I have a head with no cheek, a round body I don't like, and a disproportionate limb. No good.
Johnloh, I find your idea great, but you're right: it isn't quite finished yet. I think it may lack depth: the background is a bit too flat for me. I don't know anything about FF, but aren't there tree silhouettes you could borrow ? Given a very light color treatment, it may provide a better background.
If you want to try a new technique, you can design much more complicated frames for the birds. Something fast and easy like crewel ? That ay, you can create a flourished family tree, with the birds in cross-stitch. It may provide a nice contrast.

Re: May --> ? Challenge! Final Fantasy Stitch-A-Long!
I'm loving everyone's ideas so far. I would have started mine by now but I've had a networking crisis and have spent the last few days up to my ears in PC's and routers :o But, seeing everybody at work has inspired me to get going yay!
Although I haven't finalised my design, I'm hoping to do something based around this:

The Prime Element table from Final Fantasy XI. Hopefully I'll be throwing in stuff from other FF's
Pattern coming soon!

Re: May --> ? Challenge! Final Fantasy Stitch-A-Long!
2nd draft...I tried to incorporate the ideas people talked about, and I think it made it better.

-used boxes for male, circles for female (like real pedigree charts)
-blue background in boxes
-connected lines between boxes
-offcentered the line between green/blue to keep the lower boxes centered
-removed names underneath.
-added title
-white background
-just the top part of the chocobo shows, to make it look more like a portrait.
-changed golden chocobo's colors to make it look orange/different from yellow chocobos
-made chocobos face each other (they are mating after all!!)
still to fix...
1. I'd like a way to show good/great chocobos, but I dont know how to do that and make it fit.
2. maybe add a legend to help with #1? dont really know how to make it look like it fits though.
3. I'll probably make the title font larger, right now its 5px tall, I'll likely go to 7px. (it seems kinda short)
4. get carob/zeio nuts in there somehow?
OPINIONS? HELP?

blue and green chocobo's colors are too close to background. Need contrast color like dull color, tan.johloh wrote:2nd draft...I tried to incorporate the ideas people talked about, and I think it made it better.

Re: May --> ? Challenge! Final Fantasy Stitch-A-Long!
The only thing I would adjust would be the title/font. I think it would be cool to make it look like the old Family Feud logo-- very homey and country looking.johloh wrote:2nd draft...I tried to incorporate the ideas people talked about, and I think it made it better.![]()

I was thinking of joining with this bad boy from FF6. I think he would look really cool on midnight blue or deep purple with some stars in the back ground... I have some long weekends coming up so I might even get a chance to work seriously on it.
(His name is Kefka)

Just finished the third character in the blanket! I think its a thief, but I'm not entirely sure. Anywho- here he is:

Started the fourth one last night-- then on to the monster in the middle!

Gosh you doing brilliantly!! I haven't even started yet! I've got the pattern sorted and the fabric. I'm just juggling when to start it.
