The very vast majority of high school boys are giant a-holes. Pay it no mind.Mai wrote:I'm really annoyed at two boys in my year.
Yesterday I got a message on Facebook from one of my friends who has a crush on one of them saying that I should click on this link. So I clicked it, and the two boys had made a "Top fittest girls in our year" list.
It was obviously a mick-take, with the most 'ugliest' (Stupid word.) girls in the year at the top, going down to the most fittest.
I was number 4.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
There is no hope for boys from ages 12 to 22. There's also no possible consolation for being targeted in high school. I hate that it's happening, and I hope it turns around soon, and I wish people could learn X-Zone in real life and send those jackasses where they belong. I started feeling okay about high school about eight years after graduation. Your mileage may vary, hopefully in the nicer direction.Mai wrote:I'm really annoyed at two boys in my year.

Our oldest was blessedly finishing off her potty training when our youngest was born; instead, she would use other venues to drive us nuts when we needed to put the baby to sleep, up to and including poking the baby within a minute of her eyes closing for sleep.

Nope, election year is what's affecting my relationship with my family though.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
Thought I'd post my rant on here...
I found a very cute knitting pattern for a baby one-sy earlier this year, and decided to make it for my neice. Bought all the wool, spent a couple of months making all of the bits, and was really excited in July when I had all the parts done and just needed to sew it up. Waited for a quiet weekend to start the sewing, and spent most of an afternoon and evening on it. Sewing isn't really my thing, but I was really happy with how the shoulders and arms turned out (I had to re-do the arms) and sewed up the feet. Looked at it... and the feet looked terrible. They're out of shape, and no amount of blocking will fix it! I got a bit annoyed, and put it away to be fixed another day, as I'll have to unpick the stitches and re-sew somehow. It's been hidden away for a couple of months now, and I had a bad day at work yesterday, so decided it was a good time to get it out and unpick the stitches, which was quite therapeutic! No idea when I'll get around to sewing the feet back up - the legs are a funny shape to allow for the sole and top of the foot, so I can't even leave them out and pretend it's not supposed to have feet!
Ah well. I'll get round to it soon I hope. Decided to do the 6-12 month size rather than newborn size, and I'm glad I did! My neice is a big baby, and she'll be nice and warm in this in winter. Assuming I have it finished by then!

All the spammers that keep cluttering up my list of new posts each time I log on here are annoying me! Not as bigger deal as some of your issue on here but it's been bugging me for a few days now! Why do those people think by spamming our forums they will get any business?!!!!

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
Mai there is hope at the other end of the tunnel.
Let me tell you a tiny bit of my high school experience.
I played a low-brass instrument which meant I brought ire on myself from other low-brass members because I was a girl in an all-boys club. Stupid I know, but it was the one thing (and the fact that I was heavy and not terribly pretty) that made me a target for them. They carved 'DIE' into my locker, threw pumpkins on my porch every year, and tore my mailbox down at least 4 or 5 times (which only * off my dad). Plus they made my high-school days a living hell.
I never went to a boy-choice dance, and I barely dated.
However, when I went to college the boys were somewhat normal. No one cared that I played low-brass, and all the guys were pretty cool.
4 years after High School graduation I met and married my husband of 8-and-going-on years.
There is no consolation for the pain during high school. I attempted suicide, went through depression, and was friend-raped as well. It is hard, but eventually it is over.
Concentrate on the good stuff since there is always good stuff if you look for it. I did have friends, and eventually a great support system.
My heart breaks for all those that suffer during high school. It isn't fair, but it will end. ^_^

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
1) I get really angry with the 50 shades S**T. Having just gone through a confidence course aimed at women ( was great, half confidence work half craft work!) it makes me angry that so many women are reading this rubbish. Even the S&M community have shunned it because it isn't an accurate representation. We should not still be sending these messages that it is OK to be treated as a slave because eventually you'l be able to change his ways.RARRR!
2)RMDC you have every right to hold your own political views!
3) highschool HighSchool is horrible. The internet wasn't as accessible when I was at High school, but I can't imagine it helps. Boys are idiots at that age, they probably don't mean half of what they say and actually probably don't even think about the person they are insulting. I know it doesn't help right now, but again I want to agree with m4pl3g1rl that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. If you are finding it difficult at High school it probably means that you won't conform to whatever everyone else is doing to be "popular", which means that you are actually being you. That is an amazing, it is so much better to be yourself than to be a copy of everyone else. And what those idiots think of as "fit" is probably some dumb blonde bimbo, and I can assure you that when you are older and happy/successful etc etc and you bump into "dumb blonde" working behind the counter of McDonalds (actually happened to me!!!) you will realise that "fit" doesn't show through all the grease!!!
hehehe. I quote my Father with this " There is no such thing as an ugly woman, just blind men" honest to God, as you get older you will realise this is true, and hopefully so will the guys around you. One of the things I really really hated about myself at high school was my freckles ( I look like I have been sunbathing under a tea strainer as my mother-in-law would say
) but it was actually my freckles that my (now) hubby found really attractive, when we finally got together he would spend ages trying to find patterns in them
But the point is you never know who is looking, and what they think beautifull is.
Rant over...
