4x4 foot sprite art

Post by 8bitliving »

Hi All,

I have been working for months on an art project of sorts that I'm thinking this crowd may appreciate. In short, its a mosaic framework where you can layout 16x16 wood "pixels" anyway you like - which really lends itself well to recreating my favorite Nintendo characters in my living room. I'd love to get some feedback on it (positive or negative) if you have the time to check it out.

This is really cute! I assume the pieces are magnetic and that's a stainless steel frame behind them?

Thanks kuja.girl!

The frame is actually galvanized steel. I don't think stainless steel is very magnetic. The pieces are made of wood with "Save the Date" style magnets attached.

All I know is your living room is way too neat and well decorated - so I am jealous!

That is so cool! I love how you can change it to whatever you want. That way you never get tired of it.

Thanks Ellentje!

That's the idea... I only have to go thought the hassle of hanging on the wall once. Of course, changing the pattern is kind of addicting and I'm always making new "pixels".

Changable huge spriteart to put on your wall? Awesome!
I love the idea, it looks great.

Must say I much agree with the design you picked for the photo. ;)

Love it!!! I really like the Space Invaders on as well. Looks a lot more polished than my paintings :)
