Crochet Gamer Afghan

Post by alicia1018 »

Im making this blanket for my boyfriend. Im guessing im going to need 25 squares to make it decent sized. Each square is going to represent a different video game and are made in single crochet, 30st across by 35rows. Ive made 9 so far, and have made patterns for quite afew more. I really hope 25 is all im going to need cuz im having trouble coming up with more games, since i want the games to be ones that my bf likes, and they have to be such small images. Heres some that ive made so far. Can you tell what they all are? My favorite one is Kirby, It came out just perfect!

Im for sure going to make squares for Mario, Yoshi, Megaman, Sonic, Metroid, PacMan, Final fantasy, and Oblivion. Id like to make one for Starcraft II, I was thinking the logo for the terran since apparently thats who my bf likes to play. but am having difficulty coming up with a pattern. I also have a WoW alliance logo pattern i made but im not sure how its going to turn out, and im not sure i want 2 have 2 squares representing the same game. Any thoughts?

And there it is!
Great work here. It looks very clean and it will definitely be heavy and warm!

Those squares look great! How big is going to be?
I made a crochet blanket myself a while ago, and I sewed fleece to the back of it. I cut the fleece a about 15 cm bigger than the blanket on all sides. I folded the edges of the fleece to get a border of 5 cm with nice finished edges and used wool to roughly sow it onto the blanket. It worked great.
