Re: Sephiroth Pixel Hobby Art
Nice WIP, it seems to be faster than stitching?
I went to the craft store in my town, and they do have the supplies for this, but it turns out that they are closing
It's the only good craft store in miles, so I'm really bummed right now.. I'm not sure if I'm going to try pixelhobby now, since I will have to drive like 1,5 hours to get to another craft store that has the supplies..
Anyway, keep up the good work! The face will be nice to see finished, but it may be nice to save it, so you don't get stuck doing nothing but hair because the face is already done.

Re: Sephiroth Pixel Hobby Art
Alright I will save his face =D I already gave in a little bit and did one side of it already anyway hehe. It is faster than cross stitching I believe. The most time consuming part of it is straightening up the pixels once you put them on the board so there are no gaps between them. I use a thin, dull blade I got from an army surplus store that happens to fit perfectly in the grooves so it became a permanent part of my craft collection
I'm sorry to hear that your craft store is closing! I know there a at least two different websites for pixel hobby I have seen offhand for the US and Australia so maybe there is a site that will ship locally to you if you want to try it. I found this on the Australia website:
For international customers we have not charged GST or VAT. You may be charged this also as an extra cost to you upon receipt of your goods depending on the laws in your country. We do not pay this amount for you.
For International Customers you may wish to order these Pixelhobby Supplies from your local distributors as below.
Pixel Hobby USA - For USA, Canada and Mexico Residents - http://www.pixelhobby-usa.com
Pixel Hobby Head Office - For Residents in Europe - http://www.pixelhobby.com/retailers
Not sure if they ship or if it just lists stores that carry the supplies. Hope that helps!

Wow, the results so far look great! Can't wait to see the finished article, although i think i may have to leave trying this hobby for a while, it looks far too addictive!

Re: Sephiroth Pixel Hobby Art
Thanks for the links
I found a store that is actually close to where my parents live, so I might be able to give pixelhobby a shot
Just have to find the time to make a nice 1-plate pattern for practice and pick up the stuff I need.
I'll keep you updated

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted any updates on Sephy in awhile. I've been completely absorbed in the craft swap thing so I haven't had much time to work on him. Just wanted to let you know I'm not ignoring you.

Re: Sephiroth Pixel Hobby Art
Each plate holds 2000 pixels so 12,000 at the moment not including the partially done one not pictured. ^_^' Overall it is going to be 48,000 total since there are 24 base plates.
You had to ask, didn't you?
I didn't think about it until now.

Re: Sephiroth Pixel Hobby Art
Wow that's a lot of pixels! It's going to look so amazing though.
I'm glad to say that I finally picked up the supplies to try this for myself. It's going to be just one base plate, so 2000 pixels, to see if I like it. It's going to be a scene from Harvest Moon. Now I just need to find the time to get started.. I'm kind of busy with the craft swap at the moment.
