Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
I'll happily join in with a swap!
I got no ideas for themes yet but I'd like to see what other people suggest.
If we are person matching then perhaps list the participants, then draw a random name from the same list (out of a hat type thing) and tell only the maker who they are making for... that actually sounded better in my head so I hope people know what I'm suggesting here
I'd say make this a 2 or 3 month thing and keep the projects smallish so there's plenty of time to get supplies and make etc.
Oh and I think there should not be a winner, since we all get a prize

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
Im in!!
I think instead of a theme we should make something tailored to the person we are making it for. Someone should also try to match people up. We want to try to give people things they can't make themselves. I agree only tell the maker who they are making for (how do you say that so it doesn't sound weird). I think 3 months is a good times frame. I could get a nice quilt made by then. You know the person I draw is getting a quilt. So no rigging Johloh!
There doesn't have to be a winner, but when someone receives something they must take pics and post!

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
I like tnitnetny's ideas a lot. I would really enjoy this activity, but I'm afraid what with my limited time as it is, I can't commit until I get more details. But I will keep my eye on this thread and let y'all know if I'm in. :)
Edit to add: Not sure what shipping in Europe is like, but it may be helpful cost-wise to divvy up shipping to stay within continents as much as possible.

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
It would be great to do this but unfortunately i don't rate my skills enough to make something that somebody would want- plus i haven't been here long enough to really make something tailored to another member. I think I'll wait until the next challenge

if we do tailor projects to people (which i think we should) we'll have people fill out a quick questionnaire on games they like, crafts they do, etc.techno-ninja wrote: plus i haven't been here long enough to really make something tailored to another member.
and by the way im totally rigging it so that I get a quilt! woot!
remember, I only add you to the list if you tell me youre in! check the list at the top

A questionnaire would be a good idea, makes the thing more tailored and personaljohloh wrote:if we do tailor projects to people (which i think we should) we'll have people fill out a quick questionnaire on games they like, crafts they do, etc.
How will we be doing the shipping? Sending all the items to one person who will redistribute them to the correct people, or sending the item we make to the person it's for directly? Obviously we will need to give home addresses etc either way.
I hope not, since I am in the UK and I don't mind paying shipping costs to send stuff internationallymud wrote:Will this be U.S. only? Considering the shipping costs..

Re: March Challenge! - Craft Swap!!
I'm in as well!
No ideas for a theme yet, but the fairest way to match everyone would be to do it randomly, picking names out of a hat.

As another person from the UK, I wouldn't think so.mud wrote:Will this be U.S. only? Considering the shipping costs..
