DMC color guide
Since programs are notorious for choosing inaccurate colors, and I have not yet achieved ultimate victory of owning the entire DMC series, I frequently have the problem of trying to choose between colors I don't have. I've looked up a color list online, and have only found this one, in order by color rather than number:
So I submit to you my work for the past couple of days, a NUMERICAL color chart. This should help you compare more accurately than the software. You could open it in paint, and copy and paste the two colors next to eachother that you are trying to compare. Hopefully someone else can get some use out of this, I spent enough time on it! The original picture was missing a few colors listed in PC-Stitch, so I put those in greyed out.

Re: DMC color guide
Great job Funkymonkey !!! I was just complaining in my "baby patterns" message, that I was sometimes deceived by the choice of KG chart for the colors (the difference between what they look like on my computer screen, and in reality...). Thanks for this !!

Re: DMC color guide
This is wonderful - how did you manage to find time to do this with that big SMW map project going on?

Heh, I actually did this precisely for the SMW map. I'm working on the patterns for the "mini" maps and wanted the colors to be consistent, and they all imported differently and I couldn't make up my mind.RMDC wrote:This is wonderful - how did you manage to find time to do this with that big SMW map project going on?
I have 2 other quick things i want to stitch, then I'm diving into the maps!

Yay, glad I could be of service! I've used it myself a couple times since making it; it's nice to have around.

I'm working on taking Funky's awesome job with the DMC colors and comparing them with the colors that KG chart has for easy referencing. Unfortunately I can't do this with PCStitch as I don't have that program.

I want to hug you right now! Is that inappropriate?
This is the simple and delightful answer to my current problem with a pattern I'm working on. Love KG Chart but the colors it selects look nothing like what I expect, and I hate finding out it's the wrong color as I'm stitching.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
