Which chart software is best?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find a thread for it but does anyone have recommendations for charting software? I have been using the free trial of KG Chart to create some cross stitch patterns for myself on a very small scale but I know a lot of people don't have good things to say about it. I would like to invest in charting software so any input from regular users would be appreciated. What are the pros and cons? Is there any that are more user friendly than others?

Generally, PC Stitch is probably the best. You do get more control over the pattern and more options to tweak the patterns. It's not perfect, I can think of a bunch of things that could be done to improve it. I have found that it tends to struggle with strong purple colours as well if you are trying to import a picture. It tends to convert to more blue colours instead.

KG Chart is ok for beginners, but this program tends to skew darker and muddle the darker colours together. I basically stopped using it after I got a copy of PC Stitch, plus you have to pay for it now as well.

Seconded on PC Stitch. I started with KG Chart, but once I went to PC Stitch I never looked back.

I've tried both and honestly, I stuck with KG Chart. I have just gotten used to not trusting the colors it gives me and compare them to my threads before starting a project.
