Sunnydale Alumni

Post by mud »

I got this image from a shirt on ebay. I wanted to buy the shirt for the GF but it was to expensive, so I descided to stitch it instead. But I cant find oxblood-coloured aida and I ain't stitching the whole background on this thing.
Currently I'm saving up to buy the shirt for her as a birthday/anniversery-gift.
It's likely that i will never use this pattern, but why not post it, right?

Have fun with it, post pics if you use it!

PS. If you didn't know, Sunnydale is the high school that Buffy attends.

You could certainly try and make the t-shirt for her using a maroon shirt and a printed iron-on transfer. They don't last quite as long as a screen-printed shirt would, but they're easy to make and would be another type of home-made gift. Go to amazon.com and do a search for "dark t-shirt iron transfers" or something of the sort - there are lots of different brands and some are better than others.

I went to an Oregon Trail/Wild West themed party last year and my idea of a costume was to customize an image from the original Oregon Trail game so that it said "[my name] has died of dysentery." I printed the image onto one of the iron-on transfer sheets and ironed it onto a black shirt. I didn't win (came in 3rd!), but I definitely got a lot of compliments on my "costume."

Did you try looking on ebay for the aida? I found one that's maybe not dead-on but it's close...

Just dye the fabric the colour you want it.
I think you could find it in most craft stores ,check fabric stores or online too.

I second what DMLC said. I just started a new project and it would have cost me way too much to buy the color I wanted in the size I needed.
Dye is cheap and so is white aida cloth. My cloth turned out beautifully.
Just make sure you rinse it a lot.

Thanks for the tips. Will most likely dye som aida, for this project or for something else.
Would be cool to do a tie dye and some nice hippie-themed stitching.

That would be simply awesome to see but far from simple. I think I would go bonkers trying to do something like that with all those colors.
