I have a request...I am looking for a pattern that says Home Sweet Home and has the Mario Castle from the first super mario. And maybe have the flag beside the castle too.

Wow thats nice, my brother asked me a while ago for a home sweet home with the mario castle, flag etc. I was wondering though, is there any chance of makeing it smaller? Say it fit an A4 frame?

PS love the work you do on this site.

Hi, I'm new to this site, but I found that wonderful "Home Sweet Home" pattern a few days ago and started stitching it. It's coming along well, except that I realized I don't have any floss for the castle. Are you positive it's number 947? I was at the fabric store the other day, and 947 seemed too bright orangey, rather than "burnt orange." I almost purchased it anyway and began stitching with it, but I just wanted to know if you guys had any advice in that area.

Thanks ^^

I think the floss number is correct in correspondence with color description.

But I can say with sureness that it might not be the perfect match for the color regardless, and this is why.

The colors that you see on a computer are different than those you see in life. Computers use red, yellow, and green, while your eye sees red, yellow, and blue. The programs use approximations based on color blends to get the floss number it gives to you. For example, in my Super Metroid project, PC Stitch gives me a darker brown than DMC Stitch Creator.

It also depends on personal color threshold, but if a color doesn't look right to you, such as in this case where you think the color is too bright, go ahead and replace it with a darker color. It would still look great ;)

yes, I agree...you need to judge and sometimes change colors. ive noticed programs often mess up the 'flesh' tones the most.

HOWEVER. I have also been at the store and thought to myself 'this color is so totally wrong', but went ahead and bought it. started stitching and realized it was perfect. sometimes what looks bad in the store in a full bundle of thread is good...

my advice is to always buy what the pattern says, and if you think its off buy another one too. i mean, throwing down an extra 30cents is worth not going back to the store.
