Would it be okay if I asked more about the progress? I would really like to learn a bit more so i can to that by myself :c I resized the image in photoshop to the amount of diamonds and then imported that to pcstitch and changed the size to the amount of diamonds but it still had those grey areas. If you could guide me a bit more in the process of what im doing wrong I would really appreciate it

Sorry for the wait!

I can't tell properly from the picture, but it looks like Photoshop has added dithering or something to the image? Can you post the image you imported so I can have a good look?
Then I can explain a bit better where you went wrong, and also how to avoid it!

So this is what I did: I took picture 1(name: adsadas) and counted the diamonds to the right (220) then I went to photoshop and in save for web changed the image size to 220*361 (bicubic). The image (name: 1) came blurry and when i placed that photo in pcstitch it came with the gray areas and also blurry (name: pcstitch try 1)

then i tried this: I changed directly the image size in photoshop to 220*361 (bicubic automatic) (name: try 2) but it also became blurry :c.

Could you please check them and tell me what im doing wrong?

Sorry again for another wait, still recovering!

Ahhh I see, I think you tried Save for Web and Devices on the diamond picture? It *is* usually what I use for large images, but they're mostly jpegs that need a lot of clean-up and scaling down to work as cross stitch patterns. And every picture is different and needs to be adjusted accordingly!
With the diamond picture, because it is basically squares (diamonds) and it's already a relatively simplified image compared to the original art, I just used the full size image that I had and told PCStitch to make the width 209 pixels, because I counted that many diamonds across (had to use paint to mark every 10 diamonds) - after that PCStitch just thought the diamonds were squares/pixels and resized the image itself. I also cropped off the bottom part of my picture as it had a little bit of text.

My advice would be to take your full size diamond image, import THAT into PCStitch and set its width to the number of diamonds that it has across, and let PCStitch do the rest. Also, don't limit the number of colours when you import, you can scale those back later in the pattern itself!

Does any of that make sense?

Hi! thanks for the update! I hope you are healing better. Sorry for the late reply, I also went into surgery on sep 10 so I couldnt check this out! So I tried taking the full picture and counting the diamonds (281). I placed the full picture on pcstitch and even put the numbers of colors to 999 but I dont know why it isnt working for me :c. I attached the pictures bellow! of the counting of the diamonds and what it looks like in pcstitch

I tried playing with the saturation and the grainy effect went away but I dont get consistent colors like you. The left one is your and mine is in the right. If I export this to the diamond painting software, mine looks like a mine fild :c. Do you perhapds remember the settings you used with the saturation, brightness and stuff? I just dont seem to get consistent colors.

Hi sorry again for another delay, been really unwell!

I used default options for saturation etc, but you are using PCStitch 7 and I use 10 so I don't know if that's making a difference? Apart from that, I can't figure out how you're getting different results!

Hey! dont worry. I really appreciate your help, im so sorry for asking so many question when you already fulfilled my request :c I would like to learn how to make it myself so in the future I can do it myself. Focus on recovery and answer when you can c:!

I use pcstitch 11, it says 7 because i have to downgrade the image to 7 to use it in the diamonds software. I have been trying to play with the saturation but I think that the problem its not the software but the image. I remember you said you did some tweaking to the image, right? You used an option called "Save for Web and Devices" which really helps in resizing and color reduction. Do you still have the picture you used in pcstitch itself?

When you can, could you please tell me the process you did in photoshop?
