You've probably seen the new banners that servo made for the blog...well, I decided to make one of my own...then I figured some people on the forum might have desire to get one of their own into rotation...

I can't offer much, but if you check next to my name you can get a "cool" banner maker tag next to your name if you make one and it gets on the site...

here is some inspiration...

servo's banners...

my lonely banner....(mine doesnt look quite as good because I didnt stitch the black background, among other reasons)

newest banner by DWGrrl...

and here is the template to get you started...

it'd be best if you got approval on your design before you started stitching...better to find out I don't like it before you spend hours stitching...

Ok, I was thinking something like this. With the high point on the fire separating the stitched part.
What do you guys think?
Credits to Servo for making the font.

EDIT: Now when I see it compared to the others, the writing fells too small.

mud, first off that rules. and I would love a monkey island banner.

I do feel like the font is a little small, as you stated...

also, if you zoom in on some of the banners that servo made you'll notice that they aren't pixel by pixel renditions..The unstitched portions of the image have each pixel as 2-3x normal size. what im trying to say is I think that it might have too many pixels in the starting image...

maybe servo can explain it better.

My way of making these was to find or make a screenshot and choose a small section that I wanted to stitch. The stitched portions were 4 x 2 inches big. After I finished them I scanned them into my computer and then had to resize them to make them smaller to fit behind the template. I imported the original screenshot onto another layer and made it bigger until the pixels matched the size of the stitches. I put the font on last so I could play with the placement.

Hope that helps!

Ok. Will remake it tonight.
This is great, because now I have one more reason to go out and buy the threads need to make me a few Monkey Island t-shirts.

I was tinkering around with an idea last night and came up with this:

Image

Pauline is saying "Sprite Stitch!" instead of "Help!". I know it's not exactly the correct size or anything, but I thought the general idea was pretty good. I'm not too sure at which point I would start stitching it either (the breaking point from the game to the stitches), but it's a start.

Let me know what you think, and if you like it, I'll correct the size, clean it up, and can start on it in a couple weeks :good:

I like it. What about just stitching the hats?
