I like ATC idea. We could also do a mystery SAL.

I do like our traditional style where we all create patterns and then create a sampler out of them but I could also see having just an outline and a theme and then everyone creates their own pattern to fit and stitches it.

Re: Next Challenge - you decide!
If we do a SAL, I request something that isn't too large. As a working gal with a busy life, I'm much more likely to fall back into a slump if a project is too grand. Though I love those kinds of projects...
Also it might be fun to try a pattern that would teach you a different way to stitch. I'd love to do a blackwork-style pattern, for example. Maybe adding something new to learn would help spice stuff up?

I like the idea of a mystery SAL where the pieces revealed are small each week

I'm thinking maybe these things could be combined! We could all make some patterns and see how people use them. Kind of like when we did the band sampler way back and some people did some different colours and stuff. In fact, should we do it in a band sampler style? What do you think?mbiogirlumd wrote:Also it might be fun to try a pattern that would teach you a different way to stitch. I'd love to do a blackwork-style pattern, for example. Honestly, I wasn't as much a fan of the band style as I was of the square style. The patterns were much easier to make in the square style. Just my opinion...take it for what it's worth.

When you say a "band sampler", is there a post to show an example of what you are talking about, just to help me get an idea? I've combed through the forums pretty thoroughly but I don't remember something that fits...

I would also like to see some examples of things. I am pretty new to everything and I don't know too much what the things being discussed involves.mbiogirlumd wrote:When you say a "band sampler", is there a post to show an example of what you are talking about, just to help me get an idea? Yeah, I think I would need examples or at least descriptions if we choose a project that requires following a certain type of stitching. I wouldn't mind trying something different though.
