Re: 2014 Charity Quilt 2
Ok, so online raffle it is.
I am thinking of "advertising" it at a convention and then leave it open 2-3 weeks? What do you guys think?
Here are the conventions I could start it at and maybe display it:
Too Many Games – June 26-28, Oaks, PA
Con Bravo – July 24-26, Hamilton, ON
Gen Con – July 30-Aug 2, Indianapolis, IN
Wizard World Chicago – August 20-23, Chicago, IL
Baltimore Comic Con – September 25-27, Baltimore, MD
Too Many Games would make the most sense being a video game convention, but it has a low attendance.

I'd suggest Con Bravo and GenCon. Have it live from the start of a Con Bravo, to finish a week or so after GenCon.

If I do Con Bravo then how should I handle the difference in US and Cad currency?
For example if I make tickets $5 each that would be $6.02 CAD. Or should I just direct people online to purchase tickets?

Wizard World would be good as well. I know the geeky subculture in my city is going nuts over getting our own Comicon from a national place, but not sure what is going on at the Chicago one.

Perhaps you could give out some sort of ticket or card to direct them online to purchase. If they have something with an URL on it might make them more likely to remember to go buy tickets?tnitnetny wrote:If I do Con Bravo then how should I handle the difference in US and Cad currency?

Great idea, but that would cost even more money. These are the things I am wrestling with and trying to figure out.

QR code? Scan it with their phone, takes you to where you buy the tickets?tnitnetny wrote:Great idea, but that would cost even more money. These are the things I am wrestling with and trying to figure out.

That is a fantastic idea! I just googled Qr codes and you can make them for free. I could make a sign with the qr code so people could scan it for the site for more information! Brilliant!
