It reminds me of the Zelda games, when Link gets a new item and holds it up over his head and the happy music plays. That's what Megaman looks like he's doing.

I love your methods because it takes a single sprite and makes it a big ol piece of wall art. normal cross stitchings of sprites are too small! and, I'm going to try and follow this, we'll see how it turns out.
