I use Across Town Stitching quite regularly, last time I used them I went for the 50 for £16 offer. That said, they have missed putting in some of the threads I've ordered a couple of times. A quick email sorts it out and they send the rest on, but it is still a pain. The delivery time is a bit slower as well because they tend to send everything 2nd class.

Another good site is http://www.sewandso.co.uk who sell DMC at 59p per skein. They are normally very reliable.

What site did you find that sells skeins of thread at 53p?

it's 48p a skein and they also do bundle deals (not as cheap as across town stitcher though). not sure what they are like on delivery though.

sorry for the thread hijack

Urgh! For that price, I doubt I would stitch at all!
Can you guys place orders on American websites? I normally order my DMC skeins at www.123stitch.com and they're 44c each... and I'm talking about dollar cents!
My mom in Italy finds DMC skeins costing anything between 80c and 1,2 euros... At this point, she just orders everything on the website I use and waits for me to send her a big box of supplies every couple of months.
What's really weird it that the floss I buy here is labeled Made in France, so shouldn't it cost less in Europe?

Thats what youll think but there very hard to come by here!

most stores have limited stock and very over priced, one store was £1.79 ($2.69) per skein!!
were having problems with ordering things online at the moment so shops are the only option :sorry:

Even in france it would still be overpriced. Stupid inflation.

I think I might have found a way around ordering stuff from the states- apparently there's a website where we can get a US post box address so we just pay domestic shipping, then we pay a fee to the website to get it sent here- it's so much cheaper than getting it shipped straight here!

If only our internet was working enough to shop online

OH!
and thanks for all the online stores that all of you have mentioned its helped me alot with deciding to continue sprite stitching.

Im 70% through my newest picture so im stuck on the choice of posting another WIP topic or leaving it for a few more weeks and just posting the complete thing?

I personally love seeing the WIP but that is just me ^_^. If you are that far done (depending on how big it is) I would say it's up to you whether you do it or not. It certainly wont hurt anyone  .
