In cross stitch one typically uses between 1 and 3 threads depending on the count of the fabric and I thought that might not provide sufficient coverage for a continental (or tent) stitch like this.
But yeah, it looks great! I've been seeing more and more Pokémon stitching lately and I really want to make some and I just keep putting it off for no reason. Well, the sheer number of monsters available is a bit intimidating. Also the number of different iterations of the series. Each set of games had different art and I guess there's some horrible OCD part of my brain that insists that I examine, say, the Magikarp art from each different one before starting. I have issues.
I don't think plastic canvas comes in different sizes. I'm sure there are other manufacturers, but the only one I've ever found is from Darice and they seem to make only letter-sized pages. You could always stitch two sheets together. I've never tried, and it's probably more trouble than it's worth, but it's possible.
Ahh yeah, I understand. I've done small cross-stitchings years ago and had to split the threads, but the last couple of years I just stick with all 6 strands.
You should definitely go for the Pokemon ones, the website posted a few weeks back has the Diamond/Pearl sprites, and they're easily some of the better looking ones out there. And some of the Pokemon just look really good.
And stitching two sheets together is definitely more trouble than it's worth. I only did it because there was no way I was starting over on the Zelda one. I definitely plan on buying bigger canvas for my next big work.
