Hi spritestitch people! :peach

I'm a newbie to the forums, but I've been reading the blog for quite some time. There are some truly talented people here and I'm in total awe of so many of you!

Because of many of you providing patterns and inspiration, I was able to put together a gift for my younger brother. We were kids in the 80s and Nintendo was one of those things that brought us closer together. Cheesy, I know, but even if we fought there was always a round of Mario III to bring us back together.

My brother is some what of a nomad and will be moving again soon so I decided it was time to make him something to put where ever he moves to make him feel at home. (This will also be a measuring device for all future girlfriends/wife. If they don't like this, then I won't like them!) Anyway, enough babbling. Here's my "home is where the controller is, Nintendo version" cross stitch:

That is really neat, I like how the stitches stand out from the fabric. What number of threads did you use, and what count was the fabric?
Thanks

OMG that is awesome! I thought about making one of the Nintendo "Home is where the controller is" projects. I love it!! Nice touch with the different characters.

I love your variation. This is such a nice pattern because everyone has been able to make their own variation of the same pattern and they all look different. I love it!
I just posted mine in a different thread before seeing yours on this one. Mine's not done, still a WIP.

Thank you guys for all the kind words! Having other people appreciate this makes it that much better. You guys are awesome!

nintandrew: it's 18 count aida fabric - I like that because it's smaller and stitches do seem to pop out more. I also used regular old DMC floss and used 2 threads for that thicker puffier feeling. I don't have a color chart or anything. I just used a bag of miscellaneous flosses that my grandma gave me years ago and went to town.

Rozez1982 - I went searching for someone from his four favorite games and then just searched for ones that would fit each corner well. I used a generic border to connect them all.

Mak327 - yeah I really like that this is such a versatile pattern.

Chickpea, I love your version and the fact that it doubles as a girlfriend screening tool, haha!

My variation was a gift as well (isn't it great how much more fun it is to stitch something for someone else than to make something for yourself?). I thought I would share it to thank you guys, especially the domestic scientist, for the inspiration and to represent the Playstation fans!

Everyone here is so talented and I'm excited to be a part of this community! :)
