Adobe Creative Suite has gone "free". I use the term free loosely but Adobe has disabled (and closed) the activation servers for CS2 and put up the files for CS2 including PhotoShop and Illustrator among others. They've included ISOs of the discs and even included the serial numbers. This is for backup purposes for older customers but to everyone else this means free. Mind you these programs are 7 years old and given as is with no support (even for people who've purchased these apps in the past).

Re: Adobe Creative Suite 2 goes "free"
Well, it installed fine, and appeared to work ok. But the next time I tried to turn my computer on it froze, then spent 10 mins trying to repair its self, then rolled back to an earlier restore point pre photoshop and now works fine again. It may be coincidence but I won't be trying it again.
Windows 7 doesn't play nice with it. Try it by all means but set a restore point first just in case.

Yeah. You have to set XP compatibility for it. It IS seven years old as well which in computer years makes it almost 70.
It's worth it though for people with older computers.

Re: Adobe Creative Suite 2 goes "free"
This was caused by an accident on Adobe's part but they decided to just roll with it. By now the professionals (and everyone else who wants them) have purchased CS5 or 6 so it's not like they lost many potential customers.
I've used every version of Photoshop from v.5 to CS5. The biggest improvement from CS2 to CS4 is the interface, and some other tools but over all it's an awesome tool set and you can't beat the "price." ;)
