Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
My boy (6 & in Kindergarten) got bullied on the School Bus yesterday by a 5th grader (11).
It was an unfortunate series of events that led to these two being near each other, and believe me, my son can be aggravating sometimes, but still.
Apparently it started with the 5th grader telling my son to make a fist and stick out one finger, then forced him to poke himself in the eye, and ended with him grabbing him by the back of the neck and hitting his head against the seat in front of them. For real?
Apparently at some point in time my son tried to escape by changing seats and the bus driver yelled at him to get back in his seat.
My daughter (9) saw the whole thing and took her brother to the Principal office when they got to school and reported it. Good for her.
So the Principal called us and let us know and disciplined the 5th grader. And we've pieced together the story between them.
That boy will never know how lucky he is that this was his first year at the school and I didn't find his last name in the year book, or I would have been knocking on his parent's door last night.

Hugs for you, Cirestan. I have an 8 year old special needs child, and know very well how hurtful some children can be. I would have gone to the school and figured out who it was, and been at their parents' house last night. Oftentimes, the parents of bullies are just as awful.

cirestan, that's awful. I'm glad the kid has been disciplined but what a terrible thing to do to a little one. My daughter is 6 and if I found out some older kid had been bullying her all hell would break loose!

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
This was true in my experience. When I was about 8, the kid behind me on the bus had a black permenant marker and was writing on the bus seats and other stuff. When I got home, I had a giant black marker stain on the back of my shirt. I showed my parents and told them who had the marker (my neighbor), they went over there, the boy said he didn't do it, and his parents refused to believe that their son would do that, or lie about it, and that I must be the one who was lying. Absurd.yafashelli wrote:Oftentimes, the parents of bullies are just as awful.

Re: Venting Thread, or FML!
Ugh...I know this isn't a huge deal, and I shouldn't let it bother me, but as I'm still recovering from a pretty big depression phase-thingie, I think I'm taking it harder than I normally would.
So...I was going to buy these Doctor Who DVDs from a guy in the Doctor Who fan club I'm a part of. Was going to meet at a place today and do the exchange. (Oooh...shady...) Well, when I woke up this morning, I found out my husband had taken my car to work, so I was pretty much left without transportation. I texted the guy letting him know this. I texted him close to an hour and a half before we were suppose to meet. I told him I won't be able to go anywhere until after my husband gets home, which may be sometime after 6.
10 minutes after I told him how late it would be before I could leave, I get this
As I'm typing this all out, I realize that what he said isn't really that super rude or anything, but for some reason, it rubbed me wrong. Like, I always try to be nice and let people know early enough if my plans change. If I had my car, I sure as hell would have been there, right on time. But because I was left carless for the day, suddenly I'm the bad guy? *sighs* I dunno. I know this isn't a huge deal, and I shouldn't let it bother me. But it does. Maybe because it makes me doubt of what other people really think of me? Like, what are people who I actually know texting about me to other people?
I think I need some anime and stitching to cheer me up before I continue any more of this day. Thanks for "hearing" me out.

I knew this wasn't (I hoped) suppose to be sent to me. But it sort of made me a little upset. Then he sent me another text, I suppose after he realized he sent it to the wrong person."I could have sold these other two Doctor Who DVDs to another gal who bought one last night from me, but I played the Fair Fairy and held them for this person because they asked an hour before."
Of course me, being the ever-nice-guy, replied back that it was fine and I was still willing to buy the DVDs. Haven't heard back from him since, so who knows where that's going.Sorry, that was rude of me. I can't take that back now. I obviously thought I was texting someone else and I'll just shut up now. I apologize for being an @$$ and I'll even make a statement on the Who page stating I was rude

I'm very sorry that you had to see that. While it was an accident, it was still very rude. I was always taught that you should try to make certain that you only say things that you would say to that person's face.

This isn't a huge deal either, but after six days of this it's really getting to me.
I have a cough, and a bad one. But that's not the main problem.
Probably TMI, but it's really getting on my nerves at the minute!

RE: The bullying. When I was six, I was punched and kicked by a kid in my class in full view of some parents who were already there to collect their kids. The kid was never punished, because he, 'came from a broken home and couldn't help it'. I was made to eat lunch with a boy who made me flinch every time he moved for the rest of the school year.
My gripe? It's freaking hot here and there's a bushfire nearby. Can't sleep, can't read, have the worst writer's block, can only eat my body weight in icy poles.
