I few months ago, I started to adapt Mandie Manzano's "The Tenth" into a cross stitch pattern:
Some awesome people in the forums helped out with converting the piece into a KG-Chart-- which was amazing and why I *love* Sprite Stitch. when I started working on the pattern, though, the black edges hadn't translated correctly (lots of dark blues and browns instead up the nice solid black lines), so I went through and manually (in MS Paint!) made the image black and white.
I ran that baby through KG chart, and came out with a nice pattern for the black part of the pattern-- and have been working on it ever since. Now a few months and about 20,000 stitches later, I've got all of the black done and am about to start coloring it in! I usually don't post a lot of WIP pictures, but I am just so. darn. proud. of this, that I have to.
I might post updates as I finish coloring each section-- this is a massive 120,000 stitch project, so it's going to take me a looooooooooooooooooong time to bring him all the way to life!
