Making Christmas

So after making so many ornaments and gifts for other people this year my kids have been asking "Mama, where's our sewings?" quite a lot recently. What they don't know is that I am "doing sewings" for them for Christmas.

First up is a Blooper. I used this sprite for my pattern. http://spriters-resource.com/other_syst ... heet/26983

Next is a Boo
I used the tutorial at Seremeres Blog. http://blog.seremeres.com/?p=87 With a minor addition.

Followed by a Chain Chomp. The chain was deliberately made short as I'm not naive enough to believe my boys won't try to turn this into a Chomp-flail.

And last but not least... Bullet Bill. This took a couple of tries to get right but I'm really happy with the way he turned out.

Awesome! I love that Blooper.

I'm hoping to make Christmas this year too, because my daughter wants me to "do sew-yings". I don't know how far I'll get though! :D

Thanks. I love the Blooper because he's the easiest one I decided to make. :D

What are you planning on making for your daughter? I know my guys don't really appreciate how much time I put into making stuff for them yet but the fact that they love what I make and take a bit of an interest is enough for me right now.

My plan is to make some stuff for my whole family and since we all generally like the same things it's easy. My daughter loves anything Sonic or Link and also Phanto from SMB 2 so there'll likely be some of that.
Like your little ones, I know she doesn't really understand the work and time that goes into it but she likes to see it in progress and loves the finished products! :D

Those are wonderful! My brother is sooo jealous of your kids right now, I'll have to be careful he doesn't pester me into making some for him! I have too many projects on the go at the moment, but these are sooo fantastic I might not be able to help myself.

Eep!! These are so cool! I might find myself getting into doing this...among the piles of other stuff I must finish!

I hate making Christmas- or birthdays or whatever. I have such a bad habit of not realizing how much time something will take and it always puts such pressure on me, especially since most of my presents I have to send overseas.

I just make projects. If I get them done on time for a Bday or Christmas, great. If not, I don't count on it. I have so much respect for those of you who can manage it. I'd love to do so.

Thanks for the positive feedback. It's always reassuring when people dig what I'm doing.

Sometimes I'm jealous of my kids too. My mom did a lot for me when I was a kid but nothing like this. She used to make fun of me for watching cartoons in high school and she never quite understood the whole gaming thing.

I don't always get stuff done on time. I'm still trying to finish my hubby's bookmark from last Christmas. That's what I get for under-estimating 22-count black adia. Thankfully he's patient and I now have a magnifying light so I don't have to go blind.

Really glad I did my mini-swap project on 22 count so I know NOT to use it for my super mario world title screen!! That stuff is intense. Somehow I almost feel like it was harder than the 28 count I used over the summer. Maybe because with that, I knew what I was getting myself into, but I kept trying to treat the 22 like it was 18 and it didn't agree with me.
