Looks sharp; you crocheted the blocks, then crocheted them together, yes?

Cool  loving the tetris theme. How did you crochet them together exactly?? I'm struggling to find different methods of putting them together. I like your way best. How did you do it?

OK, what I did was:
1) used 2 strands of yarn held together, and a size N (10 mm) hook.
2) Gauged myself at 6 rowsx10 double crochet stitches - 1 square.
3) Since each Tetris piece is comprised of 4 blocks, each piece would take the same amount of time to crochet.... 240 stitches. OR you could just make the number of blocks needed, and sew the blocks into their shapes.
4) I used graph paper to find a way to fit the pieces together: there were 4 L pieces, 4 T pieces, 4 Z pieces, and 4 big square pieces.
5) To shape them, I simply crocheted in rows and counted, stopping short when needed and increasing when needed. I will try to illustrate:
oooooooooo
oooooooooo
oooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

6) Then, I outlined each piece in a single contrasting color and sewed them all together.
7) Lastly, I crocheted a border. In retrospect, I wish I would have added each piece color into the border - but I used the same contrasting outline color.

Hope that's not too confusing!
