Metroid Plushies!

For the longest time, I've had the
MetroidHat website bookmarked, always meaning to have a go. Well, the other day, I found some time! And I made a mini Metroid.

I kinda screwed its fangs up a bit, and also the nuclei, but really happy with my first proper plushie attempt!
So...I thought I'd have another go. And make it bigger!

This one turned out MUCH better. It's destined to go off to my boyfriend, to cheer him up a bit. He loves Metroids and I know he'd like a plush one. But before it got packaged up...

...it had some fun with my daughter!
Both plushies were made with green fleece from a baby blanket that wasn't needed anymore, red and white wool-mix felt, and nice fluffy stuffing (recycled from a duvet!). Gonna make more sometime, also I have a bunch of other plushies planned (except that I have to design those myself, hehe!)

Adorable!~~
I've had that site bookmarked for quite some time as well... though I think honest sewing is still beyond me.

Thanks guys!
I've got a taste for plushie making now and I'm dying to make more! I really recommend the metroid hat site I linked in my OP if anyone wants to learn the basics quickly.(Some basic sewing skills required, but so easy to pick up!)

How hard is it to sew? I've never sewn a thing in my life (aside from attempts as making cosplay outfits for myself, lol)
I'd love to try out this pattern

It's not, really!
There's three really basic stitches used for the metroid (I already knew how to do them, so I had a bit of a headstart) - running stitch, whip stitch and ladder stitch. If you've made (or attempted) cosplay outfits, chances are you've used one or more of these if you've hand sewn anything on them!
If not, they are really easy to learn and the metroid hat site has some nice explanations on how to do them (or they are easily googled)
I'd say the toughest part of making the metroid is doing the base part, it's slightly tricky but only in the sense that it's awkward to do. The sewing's the easy part of that bit!

Absolutely adorable!

Also goes on my incredibly large, teetering pile of things to do.

Thank you!
Can't wait to get the supplies to try my next couple of plushie ideas...but I will have to design my own pattern for those ones! And if they turn out well, I'll post them and the pattern templates!
