i make crochet phone/tablet/kindle covers and was playing with cross stitch designs to sew to the front
and so make a tester for myself with a jack skeleton design as i am mad on the nightmare before Christmas.
i think it turned out pretty good though i think it is sewn on a little wonky but its only a tester
This is a suggestion, but I've never done crochet so I don't know how well it would work...
It strikes me that it would be better to hide/disguise the edges of the aida somehow. How feasible is it to crochet the case with a hole in it, slightly smaller than the aida, and then stitch the aida behind the hole?
I'm just making this up, so I accept no responsibility if it doesn't work out! :-)
(Of course it will make the inside of the case look a bit weird... and I don't know, maybe it will catch on the phone and pull off? And aida wouldn't scratch a phone.... would it?! Maybe you'd need a lining?)
I am always trying to think of how I could mount these smaller cross-stitch things, or incorporate them into something else, like you've done. I don't crochet, but I've often thought about sewing a cross stitch (on aida) into something made of felt.
