After a few weeks of on and off work on it, I finally finished my maiden voyage project into the world of Tapestry Crochet:

Image

I used black worsted 4 weight acrylic yarn and gold worsted 3 weight yarn and a size D hook. The cinch is green 550 Type 3 paracord. It was the only thing strong enough to close this extremely stiff bag. The Triforce motif is on both sides of the bag.

It turned out decent for my first try, and I learned a lot from the project that will help me with the next one. The most important thing I learned is that using worsted weight acrylic yarn creates an end product that is EXTREMELY stiff. We're talking about the malleability of cardboard here. Also, the use of different weighted yarns was a bad idea, but sadly that was all I had on hand and I didn't feel like making a trip to the store for more appropriately weighted yarn.

My next attempt in Tapestry Crochet will be making a dice bag with the full Hyrule crest using 100% wool yarn of either sock or a very light worsted weight. That's going to be a very big and long project given the speed at which I crochet (glacial at best).
