Kirby Tissue Box Cover (WIP)

Post by kaelemerald »

This is my first go at a tissue box cover. It's for my boyfriend for Christmas, he's a hugggee Kirby fan. I would like to ask what ya'll think of the background so far (Only on the sleeping Kirby panel) I was thinking of doing two striped and two checkered all four with the same green and black colors..At the same time I'm thinking perhaps the stripes and the checkers will be too busy of a background for the simple sprites..so maybe I should change it to solid colors, but still alternating. I like the idea of them having different backgrounds so it's not boring. Please let me know what you think! Thanks in advance.

Yay kirby! :clapping:
I think there all nice and the background looks fine (not to overwelming)
you could just have the direction of stitches cange on each side?
do you have a pattern for this? my brother is a HUGE kirby fan.
would love to see this finished :D

Thanks for the response! I'm afraid I don't have a pattern..I'm just kinda making it up as I go along. If you want I could post the patterns for the sprites, and what size I cut the sides out to be, I haven't cut the top yet since I'm not sure how big it needs to be so I won't be able to give you the size of that yet. As for the background I'm just using Mosaic stitch in different ways. I think I'm going to keep the striped, do one background in checkered, then do the other two solid but one in black and one in green..That way they're all a little different.

I dont need the pattern for the box/background as I am planing to cross stitch them.
changing each time sounds great for the background. :good:

Thanks everyone. ^.^ Here's an update as well as the patterns that I said I would post..All except for the sleeping one..I forgot to save it. >.<' Also, I couldn't figure out how to save the patterns as anything else other than a .pat file so I saved them as Jpg's..I figured since the floss used to make the patterns probably won't be accurate to real floss you could figure out colors that would work well for it.

Both the Star Kirby and the Sword Kirby will have solid backgrounds. Black for the star, green for the sword.

The flying Kirby pattern was actually made by someone else. http://www.spritestitch.com/?p=61 you can find it at that link. I would post the person's name that created the pattern too, but I didn't know where to find it on the blog page..I might just be blind. x.x One way or the other, all of the credit for those patterns goes to the creator. =)

I have to have this thing finished in less than a week. O.O No idea how I'm going to do it with how little time I get to work on it..But here's hoping! ^.^
