There are a few great books out there for beginners. I bought "Super Cute: 25 Amigurumi Animals" (
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6773904-super-cute) to start. It has a pretty decent tutorial, but I did have to learn how to make the magic circle from Youtube videos. I found that watching someone's hands made it a lot easier to learn the beginning steps.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will conquer amigurumi some day. But for now I have plenty else to concentrate on.... too many things to make, not enough time!
