Hey all, here are some pics of the finished beaded boo earrings; I posted an unfinished picture a while back. I ended up altering the coloring slightly from the ones in the first post- any feedback would be much appreciated!

They are made of Delica beads and Firewire bead thread, on all sterling silver findings. More info and pics can be found here.

I think my next project is going to be a beaded Fobby pendant...!

These are very cute, and I dig your beaded Megaman too! :) I would love to learn how to do stuff like this -- do you have any tips for complete beading newbies, or know of any good tutorials/videos to get me started?

Seconded!

Those earrings are awesome, and I do have my ears pierced, so I'd wear them! I've had trouble with beading earrings, either the wire loses its casing when I bend it, or just looks icky, I dunno. Some beading tips would be greatly appreciated! ^.^

Thanks all!! I got started beading with The Beader's Companion (available here ) which is a great resource - it has different bead stitches, as well as blank work charts and information on different materials, all in a handy spiral binding =). I use the square stitch for my beaded sprites; it looks like this site has some pretty good diagrams to explain the basics of that method.

I definately recommend Delica beads and Fireline thread. Delicas are very regular in size, and they have thin walls so they can be passed through many times with thread, which is necessary for square stitch projects. If you do go with Delicas, try to avoid the dyed colors, as they will chip a little bit over time (using a sealer on the finished project may help this). Fireline thread is super thin and strong, and comes in a few shades. The first Mega Man cuff I made for myself over 3 years ago is still going strong with these materials- the cotton cuff itself is much more worn out than the sprite.
Overall, sounds lame but - patience is key! As is being ok with having to take out and redo rows.

It's pretty general but I hope that info helps! Feel free to message me if you have any other beady questions. =)
