Triforce Doormat/Rug

I made this as a test piece for part of my craft swap project and it turned out fairly well in the end I think. ^_^ I'd been looking for a bigger piece to include with the smaller ones when I stumbled across a pattern from the 1950's in my grandmother's old books. That one wasn't a Triforce obviously :P But it did have a bath rug made using the same technique here, where you've got a solid color background with a image stitched on the top, and I adapted it to see if it would work for a pixel project!

Giving it to my friend to use as a doormat but it could be used as a small rug for the bathroom or kitchen I suppose as well. :nod

Cool! Although, IMHO, I think it would look better with smaller stitches.

Oh quite possibly, but I free handed all of these stitches over a double crochet stitch so it's about 5 cross-stitch marks per 2 rows of double crochet. I wouldn't trust the stability of doing anything much smaller though since crochet is full of holes as it is and I probably would have ended up with more random loose/tight spots than I did. >.<

Thanks :) I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and the one for the craft swap will be much more epic. This was just a test and a first attempt ^_~

Exactly! ^_^ I'm thinking for my craft swap I'll do a tighter stitch for the crochet, maybe hdc or sc, to see if I can work smaller x's for the cross-stitch. The best thing is it's really simple to make and nice to look at. :D It's also quite durable as long as you keep your cross-stitch pulled snug against the mat.
