Companion Cube Plush (WIP)

Post by dvdwojnar »

Something I have been trying to get to for a while, but its slow going. I started with a block of foam packaging from something or another, and covered it with felt. I'm really proud of how the initial dark grey layer turned out, and hopefully the rest will go well. I'll post any further headway I make.

I'm basing the pattern off of a papercraft cube scaled to the size my foam cube is, just cutting out felt for each piece.

ooooh that is turning out very snazy. I like the idea of the base then adding felt on top! is it oging to be huggable squishy?

It's going to be squishy to an extent. Since its not stuffed with polyfill, it won't be so much squishy, but I think the softness of the felt will make up for any other deficiencies in hug-ability.
Also, since its not a traditional plushie, it's going to stay nice and square, which for some reason appeals to the OCD/perfectionist side of me.

Cute! I like that you used the foam core; it won't be really squishy but yes, it will hold its shape better. Just make sure it doesn't get thrown or pressed into sharp things that will dent the foam!
