Hammered Mario

Post by RedHerring »

Sooo, I'm having an exhibition in a month and I need opinions on some pieces but don't want to post it everywhere so that the people that'll attend the event are still surprised by what I do

What do you guys think?

No, I wanna try pretty much every craft I come upon. What I'll bring to the exhibition includes some bead sprites, stitchings, I'll be doing a huge collaborative post it mural, a lite brite project as well. Not sure about paintings for now because those I've done so far are sub-par

at first I was putting three drops of this gel super glue on 3 points of contact of the caps
Image
but it proved to take forever though the result is a lot cleaner than just
Image
which I used for the second half with less precision in my technique at about a third the time and usage(IE putting a lot rather freely on the foam core where the cap would end and holding it for a second) Both don't take a whole lot of time to stick, 3 seconds top.

If you do it, keep in mind that if you want all of you logos to be at the same angle next to another, the 'teeth' around the cap need to be taken into account since it adds a 16th of an inch when you don't interlock them. Otherwise the caps are exactly 1 inch in diameter. Also, use only twist caps or you'll end up having to deal with bent caps which have less surface to work with meaning less adhesion.
