Pikmin Plush

Post by dvdwojnar »

I just finished making my second one as a valentine gift (see the heart?). I'm planning on making a set of the different colors for a school fundraiser, then hopefully make a nice cuddly batch for myself. Credit for the pattern goes to Eyes5 over at metroidhat.com (if you like the idea of sewing your own metroids, check it out!). I'm still getting the hang of making the eyes the right shape (more round, at least that's how I've envisioned them), but that doesn't have too much effect on the guy himself. Just me being nit-picky.

Handstitched fleece with polyfill.

Here's two more. Next up is yellow, but I'm not sure how long it will take to perfect the ears, so I figured I'd just put these up while I have the chance.
Honestly, I have to say red is my favorite. There's just something about having those eyes and a nose...
Blue didn't turn out as nice as his predecessor ... Something about the head... maybe the eyes? But mainly just the shape got a bit off somehow...

Hehe! Blue can't help that he's naturally a little chubbier. :secret

*chuckle* I suppose not. Maybe a cut-back on the polyfill is in order.

The ears can have a nice curve to them, but you have to keep molding them by hand. I think I'll add a bit of something next time to stiffen them up and they'll keep their shape.

I'm still a fan of the plump blue one.. only because I can relate to his "misfortune." :P

These are cool. Are they machine stitched or hand stitched? Also did you just draw out a pattern in the basic shapes with a seam allowance?
