If you make another one, the only thing I would suggest is putting on a 3" border. It will make your design pop more. The border could even be the same black you used for the background.

Are you going to have any problems with fleece as a back? For those that haven't done quilting, you should use the same type of fabric throughout the quilt so over the years it shrinks and stretches at the same rate. I mostly use 100% cotton for everything.

All of that aside, the quilt looks GREAT! Is that your first attempt at a game quilt or quilting in general? It looks really good.

It was the first quilt in general :o I was kinda hesitant about the fleece but in the end i just based my decision on "what would be extra snuggly" lol :( id definetly do this again, but plan it better. I did this all in about 3 days LOL. i sewed up all the squares in a day, basically sewing non-stop from 8am til after 4pm. next day was taking it easy and just cutting the fleece and relaxing a bit and the last day was sewing it all up + border. If I do another I would plan it better like i said; spreading the work out over several days or even weeks so i dont go nuts again lol.

I am EXTREMELY impressed if this was your first quilt!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using fleece for a quilt. For the next one, use fleece for both sides. Did you use any batting or is the fleece thick enough? Don't forget to finish it off by "quilting" your quilt. That is when you sew all your layers together. If you don't it will start to fall apart after you wash it a few times.

2 sides of fleece sounds super snuggley, i love that idea. the fleece is definetly thick enough so i didnt use batting. i put it on my lap the other day when i was playing CoD:Modern Warfare at night time because i was a bit chilly and it got really warm really quick lol. I remembered to sew the layers together right before i gave the quilt away (oops lol) but i got it done. thanks again for the kind words!
