Looks incredible! The blue of the dresser really works too, makes the sprites pop out.

Oh man, that is FANTASTIC!
A REALLY good idea if you could pull it off would be to get round wooden knobs and paint them like mushroom tops!
Maybe make a mini scene on the front?

Re: Super Mario Dresser
Just a quick update.
Since the weather here has finally turned nice I was able to get back to work on this.
Some recent events:
I masked off the mario and luigi, repainted the blue, then applied a second coat of blue to the sides and the entire frame.
I painted all the drawers a second coat of blue and clearcoated them
Used wood filler to convert the bottom drawer from a false-2 to a single.
Clear coated the entire thing and then installed the handles..
I decided to go the simple route with the front of the dresser, because i didn't want it to be "too busy".
The whole thing is actually a few shades darker, the flash on my camera makes it a bit lighter blue than the actual color is.
The clear coat makes the entire thing shiny like a new toy

It looks great! I'm happy you've finally managed to finish it! It does look good just as it is. You was right not to make it too busy. I take it your son loves it very much.
