Did you make it the way they suggested on the back, with the fusible background? I've seen that technique, never tried it, and am intrigued.

No - it's $12/m for the stuff here and it would have made the quilt way to expensive for my budget. The technique seems to be the same as foundation piecing though. I have used foundation piecing before, just not with a wash-away product.

Continuous pattern - something quite open in design to contrast with the small fabric pieces used in the blocks. Nothing intricate to take away from the design though.
