Using up samples, off-cuts, and scraps

I've been finding, lately, that fabric samples are more generously-sized than they used to be, to the point that it seems like a real shame to let them go to waste.

This is the first of what's likely to be several items made as a result of a committment not to waste fabric samples, scraps, and off-cuts from other projects. It's a little coin-purse in the form of a lemming. The body is the size of a credit card, and it can easily hold some money, business cards, and earphones, all at once.

This won't be posted on my website until I've made several more pieces from samples and scraps, as I think it'd be better to compile several smaller works into just one entry.

This coin purse was made from some short-pile plush fabric samples, a leftover piece of flesh-tone fabric that was just the right size, and some scraps of felt. It was great fun to make something useful out of so little fabric. :D
