Piranha Plant Cosplay and Burlesque

This is a less conventional craft sharing, I hope no one minds...
For Comicon, I went as a piranha plant. I bought the red corset and gloves and glued pom poms and boas onto it.
The skirt was a simple green piece of fabric, tied on the side. I had originally intended for the fabric to be the base with the fleece strip skirt over it (see further down), but when I was getting dressed, I liked it so much, I just left it at the outer layer. Here I am with my friend who went as Kaylee. I sewed the patches onto her flight suit and de-sleeved it.
Then, I did a nerdlesque (nerd burlesque) act where I was a piranha plant. The goal was to use some costume elements for both, but I ended up with completely separate items. This is my pipe skirt, made out of strips of fleece.
In the act, I'm a piranha plant desperately trying to get to this question mark box since OMG, what's inside??
