Granny Square Blankets

I decided to try to make a couple sprite-related blankets this year. I started off with a Metroid blanket for my brother and then I made a smaller Thwomp one for the Desert Bust for Hope charity. I had to put my brother's blanket on hold for a while so that I could meet the deadline for Desert Bus but now they're both done! I am pretty happy with how they turned out. I didn't like the look of my whip stitches so I connected all of the squares with slip stitches. It created a ridged "wrong" side but I still like the look. I also made a border on my brother's blanket simply 'cause I felt like it. I now have a two more blanket requests to deal with buuut I am going to take a break from making granny squares for a while @_@ I never really liked them in the first place.

I love 'em both, though the irregular outline of Thwomp gives it some serious character. :nod

Thank you! I have the yarn set aside so that I can make a thwomp with a serious face for myself once I find time (and the will) for a large personal crochet project. I am currently trying to plan out Christmas gifts.

Awesome blankets! You must have the patience of a saint - I'm doing a grannys quare blanket at the moment and weaving in all the ends is driving me crazy! I love the colours you've used on the Thwomp one.
