Pyramid Head and the art of keeping warm at night!

Post by lateralthirdeye »

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I love fiber arts (knitting, crochet, tatting, embroidery, and cross stitch) and video games.

I actually completed this blanket almost three years ago, but I thought I should share anyway. It took me three weeks of almost constant crocheting to get this sucker done. US hook size H, I or J hook (I can't remember now.) and 21 skeins of yarn. Since then it has turned into a mainstay of our winter weather blanket arsenal.

I designed the pattern using the knitPro webapp (LOVE that thing).

**Yes, that is a Knithuhlu (http://community.livejournal.com/knitting/3760537.html) sitting on my headboard.

Awesome blanket! It looks really snuggly :)
My sister nearly died when I showed her this - she absolutely loves all things Silent Hill.

Love your Knithulhu too :good:

LiquidKarma -- Thank you, thank you! I've been wanting to do a Trinity test blanket, but now that I found sprite stitch, I may have to end up doing a few more video game related projects soon. I'm thinking about making a megaman 2 screenshot blanket for the hubby, as he worships that entire series of games.

blackmageheart -- It is very cozy, even though I used cheap acrylic on it. It would have broken the bank to use anything else. Also, I feel for your sister. I saw the Movie and just about swooned when I saw PH walk onto screen for the first time. Bow-chica-wow-wow! Also, if you knit, that knithulu is a very easy pattern, and doesn't require much yarn at all. Try it out! :)

riotpatch -- Such an awesome book. Mine is a signed copy, got it as a gift from my mom. Have you read Choke? Has to be my favorite. So so sick.

<3 I totally want one. This is awesome! And I agree with BlackMageHeart, it does look snuggly! Who cares if Pyramid Head is quite creepy, I'd curl up with that. XD

This is the most epic and awesome blanket I have ever seen. I squealed, literally. I am in LOVE with Pyramid Head. Who cares if he is the physical manifestation of a man's inner evil? Look at those muscles! May I ask what picture you used to create the graph? This is one blanket I definitely want to make!

Geez, I'm not sure if I can find the picture that I used in the graph, but I can try...

I found it on google. It was a stencil someone had made and put it on a tshirt. This was three years ago though...

(oh, here it is...well, at least a non-stenciled version of what I used...not the exact image, but close enough...)

Anyway, the pic that I had located had already been "stencilized", so all I had to do was throw it into the knitPRO webapp and go from there.

(Although, i will say that this guy (http://lhorkan.deviantart.com/) has a really awesome PH stencil that is ready to be uploaded into knitPRO.)

Cheers everyone!
