Re: Beadweaving - Geeky Charms and Earrings!
Thanks!
A few years back I got a keyring kit as a stocking filler from a relative. The kit was to make a seahorse by threading coloured seed beads onto jewelery wire, building up the picture row by row (similar to this one). It came out pretty well, but I really didn't like the rigidity of the wire, plus if you weren't careful you could bend the wire out of shape, leaving gaps between the rows. I played around with the left over beads and some sewing thread, and eventually worked out that stitching each bead to the pattern individually gave the best result.
I stocked up on some strong thread and more beads and started doing mario and pacman designs as a test. My friends were so impressed that I made a few gifts and then got hooked. The biggest frustration I find now is coming up with or finding new patterns.
Especially for the earrings. I'm trying to keep them small and wearable, so my patterns have to stay around only 10 pixels wide

Thanks for the info!!
I've always wanted to learn how to make those, ever since a friend had a cameleon made out of big beads attached to her backpack :p
I'm going to look for a kit and play around with it ^^

I love your work, those earrings are indeed beautiful. I'm sure it is very interesting and enjoyable to do. I love creating things out of leftover materials. I too love to do art projects just like you do.

Thanks Catherine. It is very enjoyable to do, though I've hit a bored patch with it at the moment. My attention span is similar to that of a shoe.

I love them, and would enjoy making some of my own. I will have to learn how to stitch the beads together that way first. I think some of those would look just as cool in a 3d bead stitching.
