Pikmin Plush

I hand-stitch them entirely. If I ever make a jumbo one (like, 2 feet tall or more; right now I make them 8-12 inches tall), I might machine sew some of it. Right now, though, there are a bunch of little details and curves that I don't think I could get right with a sewing-machine.

The pattern is the basic shapes, and around a 1/4 inch allowance maybe? I usually end up bringing my stitching closer to the edge than that in the end, but it works out. I got a rough idea of what the pattern was from the original designer (Eyes5), and once I drew/cut the basic shapes, I just tweeked it between pikmin (adding length here, cutting off some there, etc) until I got the current version.

I've been knitting soft toys for ages but want to try and sew some plushies now I have a machine, just need to work out what to do!

Have you thought of doing the ones from the 2nd Pikmin? The purple one would be really fat and the white one would be creepy staring at you at night. You could make a plushy bomb for the yellow one to carry that would be cool.

Haha, a plush bomb rock would be great! I think I'll whip one up in the near future, once school stuff slows down and I finish a few other projects.
Yeah, I have the fleece for making purple and white ones too, just haven't gotten to them yet. The only real differences would be the eyes on the white one and the purple pikmin would have the little hair/tendrils coming out of his head. I could try making him a bit more stuffed, but I don't think I will be too noticable of a difference. We'll see...
